The New York Times, reporting on this week's game in Tokyo between the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and New York Yankees, notes that

Baseball is willing to retrofit rugby and soccer stadiums to get a foothold in Europe; two countries, Italy and the Netherlands, have ballparks and a growing affinity for baseball. ...
